The Facilities Services' Custodial Department is responsible for the cleaning of
all state-funded buildings, and after all activities held in these areas.
Certain services are provided at no charge to the building user. Due to limited
resources, arrangements must be made by the user for other services.
I. Services, on a daily, weekly, or periodic basis, are
listed by
priority and provided in this order according to available resources.
A. Priority One -- Restroom and shower facilities

Cleaned and sanitized daily

Trash collected daily
-
Lights changed as needed
B. Priority Two -- Teaching and research areas
-
Floors dust mopped daily and wet mopped as needed

Chalkboards and whiteboards cleaned daily
-
Walls spot cleaned
-
Dusting as needed
-
Lights changed as needed
-
Carpeted areas vacuumed daily
-
Trash collected daily
C. Priority Three -- Public thoroughfares in buildings

Floors dust mopped daily and wet mopped as needed

Walls spot cleaned as needed

Entry glass cleaned daily

Lights changed as needed
-
Carpeted areas vacuumed daily

Trash collected daily
D. Priority Four -- Offices

Trash collected every other work day
-
Floors vacuumed or swept and wet mopped once a week
-
University-owned carpets extracted/shampooed once per year
-
Carpet spot removal as needed
-
Window washing when funding is available
-
No dusting
II. Services we provide at no charge on an annual or
semi-annual basis include:

Carpet shampoo or extraction of University owned carpets

Classroom furniture cleaning

Ceiling vents cleaned or dusted

Floor refinishing

Gym floor refinishing
Your cooperation and assistance are appreciated in keeping the areas as clean
and orderly as possible. Please report any custodial irregularities and
accidents to 6091.
